THE SPECTACULAR COAST OF THE GASPE PENINSULA

Come experience it all - the autumn colors at their best as we travel to Quebec by coach and then the St. Lawrence River onboard the ”Chaleur Train“ to Gaspe. Come and enjoys an night on the rails!

Running along the shore of the St. Lawrence River and into the Metapedia Valley, THE CHALEUR TRAIN takes you to a region where the River meets the Sea. Known as “La Gaspésie”, the region juts out into the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the Baie des Chaleur providing a dramatic landscape of mountains and rocky cliffs, thick forests, and salt air that hearken back to the early days of New France. The Chaleur passes close to the picturesque village of Percé, with its famous pierced rock.

Day 1
Depart by coach for Quebec City. We overnight close to the walled city for shopping or sightseeing. Dinner is included tonight at our hotel.(D)
Day 2
Spend today at leisure and explore “the old city”. Enjoy a scrumptious dinner (included) where you will experience the flavour of Quebec cuisine. Next we are off to Charny to board our overnight train. Your comfort sleeper class offers private or semi-private accommodations, with a spacious seat and a large picture window looking out on vast ocean views. Tuck into your comfortable bed and be carried to sleep by the rocking of the rails. Enjoy the hospitality in the Skyline car with meals served in the stylish art deco dining car or in the café. Day 3
This afternoon we arrive in Gaspe for an overnight stay. This afternoon our coach will pick us up at the train station and tour Gaspe before leaving for Perce, our home for 2 nights. (B, D)

Day 4
Enjoy a full American breakfast before leaving on a boat excursion to Perce Rock and Bonaventure Island where birders come from far and wide to visit the Gannet bird sanctuary. A photographer’s delight! Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Tonight enjoy fine cuisine at one of the local restaurants. After dinner take the time to get to know your traveling companions (B, D)

Day 5
After another hearty breakfast we depart for a scenic drive along the coast to Campbellton, NB. A visit to the gigantic “salmon” for a photo will complete our day. (B)
Day 6
Today we depart for New Brunswick with comfort stops along the way. Enjoy a beautiful drive along the St. John River, known as the Rhine of North America. A true profusion of Color! Photo stops will be made along the way. A fantastic travel experience. (B)
