THE MAGIC OF NEW YORK

Nov 26 - Dec 1, 2012

Every year we experience the Magic!  This Year is no exception.  Join us this Holiday Season to the “Bright Lights” of Broadway!

Day 1    New Brunswick –  Portsmouth NH   (Monday)
Travel today through the State of Maine to New Hampshire.  After settling into our hotel, the hearty and the shoppers might enjoy some time at the “Fox Run Mall” (no tax).  Some favourites are  JC Penny, Filenes, Macy’s & Sears.  For those wanting to just relax, the hotel has a nice restaurant too.  See you in the morning!

Day 2    New York City (Tuesday)
This morning we depart for the “Big Apple”.  A short stop along the way for a stretch and then it’s off to our midtown Manhattan Hotel.  Too early for our rooms but our coach will drop us for a walk-about to familiarize ourselves with the area.
This is a great time to get ½ off tickets for a Broadway Show at Times Square.  Lunch (on own) or with your tour director.  There are many places to choose from near our hotel.  Dine tonight at the Olive Garden at Times Square, or Applebees, great places at moderate prices.  Tonight why not “Start your visit at the TOP”, that is, the eighty-six floors of the Empire State Building Observatory.  Best seen at night this landmark is a must see!  (CB)

nyc_5Day 3    New York City (Wednesday)
Today begins your   48 hour double Decker Hop on Hop off pass including the Downtown, Uptown & Harlem, Brooklyn and Night Tours. All Around Town Tour  pas  also includes a 90 Minute City Sightseeing Harbor Cruise and a ticket to the Museum of the City of New York. Take time for a walk through a bit of Central Park (843 acres) with its lakes and skating rinks.  It’s a sight to behold in the middle of a huge metropolitan city.  This evening join your director at one of New York’s finest dining experiences for a Pre theatre dinner (on own).   A highlight tonight is one of Broadway’s finest Theatre Performances. (To be announced).  You will never forget your first Broadway show!  (B)

Day 4    New York City (Thursday)
We can’t wait to get started on this, our last full day in New York.  Today is a free day for browsing, shopping and experiencing more of New York using your hop on Hop Off pass again ..  An excellent time to take in a matinee performance or visit one of the many Museums.  The Metropolitan Museum of Art features one of the world’s most comprehensive collections of ancient Egyptian art.  A docent tour is a must to see the highlights of their collection.  An amazing gift shop for that hard to buy for person.  The Air & Space Museum, the Concorde….the list is limitless.

new-york-city-skylineDay 5     Portsmouth , NH (Friday)
Our first stop will be a visit to the IKEA Outlet
and a chance to play the “designer”.   There is a great breakfast available at this store at a very reasonable price for those who didn’t have a chance to eat before leaving New York.  Next is a stop at the Wrentham Village Premium Mall for 2-3 hours.   This shopping experience, with over 170 stores, is a must.  Next stop is Portsmouth and our hotel (Hampton Inn) for the night, located next door to the Christmas Tree Shop.   Some might be ready to just relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
