PEI Day Trip “The Gentle Island”
We’ll be able to enjoy the spectacular autumn colours on our drive to Prince Edward Island. We’ll take comfort stops along the way and just before crossing the 13km Confederation Bridge, we’ll stop at Cape Jourimain for a break and the opportunity to take a few photos of this beautiful bridge. Cape Jourimain Nature Park is nestled within the Cape Jourimain National Nature Park.
On arrival on the island, we’ll proceed directly to New Glasgow, home to the Prince Edward Island Preserve Company, naturally located on the River Clyde. We’ll be ready for a delicious lunch on Canada’s Food Island. After lunch there is time to sample some of the delicious preserves and perhaps take a few home.
Then we are off to Anne’s Land, Green Gables Heritage Place. Here we can walk in the footsteps of Lucy Maud Montgomery and be immersed in the landscape that inspired Anne of Green Gables. Explore the original House, 19C gardens, farmyard and historic forest trails.
We then return to New Brunswick and our stop for dinner (on own) is at the famous “Fred’s Seafood ” in beautiful Cap Pele.
Arrival back home should be approximately 10PM.
